The Vaseline Healing Project

Rebuilding Lives

The Vaseline® Healing Project provided medical support to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

By 2018, over a million Rohingya people had left Myanmar to escape discrimination, persecution and genocide. The Rohingya refugees now live in vast camps around Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

There is an urgent need for medical care in this overcrowded region. Many people fled with only the clothes they were wearing, holding no more than their family members' hands. The Vaseline® Healing Project joined Direct Relief to support the HOPE Foundation providing much needed medical treatment and supplies.

Skin conditions, infections and wounds are among the most common problems in the refugee camps. Without treatment, these problems can worsen - preventing people from working and providing food for their families. The Vaseline® Healing Project contributed dermatological support and treatment for nearly two thousand people during the course of a three day event, as well as adding to Direct Relief's medical supply drop.
